SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) is an international payment network that requires the payment-receiving financial institution’s SWIFT (BIC) code and the pension recipients’ city and state address to strengthen regulations on money laundering in foreign remittances and improve the efficiency of foreign remittance operations.
In the future, SWIFT (BIC) codes and other information will also be required for pension overseas remittances. However, as the Japan Pension Service does not manage this information, we are gradually sending the “RESPONSE FORM REGARDING THE ADDRESS OF PENSION RECIPIENT RESIDING OUTSIDE JAPAN AND PENSION-RECEIVING FINANCIAL INSTITUTION DETAILS” to the pension recipients receiving their pension at financial institutions outside Japan.
If you receive the “Response Form Regarding the Address of Pension Recipient Residing Outside Japan and Pension Receiving Financial Institution Details”, please provide the SWIFT (BIC) code of your currently determined financial institution and your city and state address (please state the city and street address separately) and send it back to us.
If you do not submit this form, we cannot transfer your pension, so please be sure to submit it.
Please refer to the enclosed leaflet for instructions on how to fill out the Form.
